Ultimately, Cold Days is an exciting and wonderfully thought-out installment in (what I like to think of as) the Dresden Files "reboot style." The stakes are high, the evil characters are as unbelievably unbeatable as you'd expect, and it ties in interestingly well with previous books, in a way that makes you think Butcher must have been planning this for a while. Cold Days, is the newest novel in the series of the Dresden Files. Though i very much enjoyed reading it, it is far from the best books in the series. Dresdens internal struggle with the power of the Winter knight, the main turning point of the novel, is portraied convincing but a bit uninspired. I liked having Harry back on this side of the veil, but I was so-so about the rest of Cold Days, the latest entry in The Dresden Files. Man. Being mostly dead is hard on a guy. pg 11, ebook. Cold Days is the fourteenth novel in The Dresden Files series by Jim Butcher, released on November 27th, 2012. It has fifty-three chapters, and a two chapter excerpt is included at the end of the paperback edition of Ghost Story.
